In addition to its flagship journal, the Journal of Romanian Studies, the SRS recommends the following peer-reviewed journals that maintain high academic and ethical standards and which focus primarily on the political, socioeconomic and cultural developments in Romania and Moldova, the situation of their ethnic minorities and their relations with the ethnic majority, as well as the position, culture, and history of Romanians and Moldovans living outside the shifting boundaries of those countries

Hiperboreea is the official journal of the Balkan History Association. It publishes articles in the field of History, written in English and occasionally French, book reviews, and evaluations of scholarly conferences. Its focus is the study of Southeastern Europe, broadly defined as the states situated in the Balkan region.

Martor: The Museum of the Romanian Peasant Anthropology Review is the journal of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant in Bucharest. Interdisciplinary and international in scope, the journal publishes scientific papers in the fields of Anthropology, Ethnomusicology, Cultural Studies, Sociology, History and History of Art, Museography, or Political Sciences.

Plural: History, Culture, Society is an interdisciplinary journal edited by the Plural Forum for Interdisciplinary Studies and hosted by the “Ion Creanga” State Pedagogical University of Moldova. It aims to foster the publication of high-quality articles and reviews concerning topics related to East and Southeast-European history, culture and society that have attracted little research interest.

Studia Politica: Romanian Political Science Review publishes high quality, peer-reviewed articles in all major areas of political science, including Romanian politics, European politics, political theory, comparative politics, political sociology, public policy, international relations, and global studies. Founded in 2001 and focusing particularly on Central Eastern Europe, it welcomes contributions on a wide range of geographical areas and topics that aim to advance the field through both theoretical and empirical innovative studies. The journal invites submissions of original articles, book reviews, and reviews essays.
